Hastelloy C-276 Tube details
Shaanxi Zhuohang New Metal Materials Co., Ltd. supplies Hastelloy C-276 pipes, conforming to ASTM B622 standards. This material features extremely low carbon content and excellent corrosion resistance, making it widely used in chemical, flue gas desulfurization, and marine engineering fields, and a reliable choice for extreme corrosive environments.
Hastelloy C-276 (UNS N10276) pipe is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy reinforced with nickel, molybdenum, chromium, and tungsten solutions, and is hailed as the "King of Corrosion-Resistant Alloys." Its pipe forms (seamless/welded) are core pressure-bearing components for conveying strong acids, strong alkalis, and chloride-containing media, and are widely used in extremely corrosive environments such as chemical, energy, and environmental protection industries.
Hastelloy C-276 Tube details
Hastelloy C-276 (UNS N10276) pipe is a tubular product of a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tungsten solid solution strengthened nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy, hailed as the "King of Corrosion-Resistant Alloys." Its pipe forms (seamless/welded) are core pressure-bearing components for transporting strong acids, strong alkalis, and chloride-containing media in extremely corrosive environments such as chemical, energy, and environmental industries.
1. Core Characteristics
Comprehensive Corrosion Resistance: Exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to most strong acids (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid), strong alkalis, and chloride-containing media (such as wet chlorine, hypochlorite) under both oxidizing and reducing conditions.
Resistance to Localized Corrosion: Excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC), especially suitable for harsh environments containing chlorides.
Sensitization Resistance: Its extremely low carbon and silicon content (C≤0.01%) design makes it less prone to carbide precipitation after welding or heat treatment. It maintains corrosion resistance without post-weld heat treatment, making it a "weld-friendly" material.
Processing Performance: It has good cold and hot working forming properties and weldability, and can be processed using conventional processes. However, it should be noted that its work hardening rate is relatively high.
2. Chemical Composition (wt%)
The chemical composition of Hastelloy C-276 pipes is strictly controlled, which is the foundation for ensuring its corrosion resistance.

4. Standards and Specifications
4.1 Product Standards
Seamless Pipe: ASTM B622 / ASME SB622 (Standard Specification for Seamless Nickel and Nickel-Cobalt Alloy Pipe and...) Tube)
Welded Pipe: ASTM B619 / ASME SB619 (Standard Specification for Welded Nickel and Nickel-Cobalt Alloy Pipe)
4.2 Specification Range
Outer Diameter Range: Typically 6mm - 630mm (Seamless pipes are generally 219mm and below; large diameters require special customization or welded pipes)
Wall Thickness Range: 1mm - 50mm
Length: Up to 18 meters (standard length)
5. Production Process and Quality Control
Smelting Process: Typically employs a dual process of vacuum induction melting (VIM) + electroslag remelting (ESR) to ensure material purity.
Forming Process: Seamless pipes are formed by hot extrusion + multi-pass cold rolling/cold drawing; welded pipes are formed by automatic welding + cold finishing.
Heat Treatment: Pipes are typically delivered in a solution-annealed state at approximately 1120-1180°C to dissolve carbides precipitated during processing, obtaining a uniform austenitic structure and restoring optimal corrosion resistance and toughness.
Testing Requirements: Non-destructive testing (such as eddy current, ultrasonic, and hydrostatic testing) and intergranular corrosion testing are required to ensure the pipes are defect-free and meet corrosion resistance standards.
6. Application Areas
Chemical and Petrochemical Industries: Reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems for handling chlorinated organic compounds and strong acids (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and acetic acid).
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD): Absorber spray layers, flues, and expansion joints, resistant to acidic slurries with a pH of 1-2 and high-temperature environments up to 80°C.
Environmental Protection and Energy: Nuclear waste treatment equipment, seawater desalination systems, and pipelines in acid regeneration plants.
Marine engineering: Seawater pumps and valves, hydraulic control pipelines for subsea oil production trees, resisting the dual corrosion of seawater and hydrogen sulfide.
